While studying on theoretical resources on design architect's creativity and the client's economic/profit-oriented relationship in practice, its sociological context through Robert Gutman Papers Collection at the Columbia University, GSAPP, Ph.D. Program as a visiting scholar (2008-2009), a professor suggested me to contact Robert Hillier and discuss those issues with him. I will never forget our first phone conversation and his question to me in the beginning of our talk: "How can I help you". His voice was very friendly and sent me a long e-mail to explain his views and comments design architect's creativity and (various types of) client's economic/commercial expectation from creative architectural design project. In addition, he kindly invited me to talk in his office in Princeton and to show how they conducted their practice in the professional world. Following a light breakfast in his office, he explained various phases of their architectural design process and how they worked. While leaving his architectural office in Princeton, I really admired his kindness and how he was open to share his experience, knowledge for the next generation in architecture and scholars...(His photograph was taken by me with his permission).
