With Catherine D'Ignazio the Inaugural Citizen TALES Commons Online Lecture on January 27

From our Inaugural Citizen TALES Commons online lecture with our speaker, Catherine D'lgnazio on January 27th 2021. Our video record of this lecture will be posted very soon!

In our online CTC lecture, she presented and talked about her recent book, Data Feminism, co-authored with Lauren Klein and how feminist thinking could be operationalized in order to imagine more ethical and equitable data practices. Then, we discussed some critical issues on intersectional feminism in today's world, data ethics and politics in relation to our own scholarly concerns, pandemic and post-pandemic life, etc.

Catherine D'Ignazio is an assistant professor of Urban Science and Planning in the Department of Urban Studies and Planning at MIT and Director of the Data+Feminism Lab.

Thanks all participants and Emerson College for its co-sponsorship of our event.
