When we (Women Who Design and I with participation of Prof. Dr. Mary Norman Woods and three inspiring archivists in architecture) organized our online panel in May 2021, (https://wwd2021.com/diverse-women-artitects), we had invited all relevant institutions (including the Harvard University-GSD), organizations, people to take action for more inclusive and diverse archives in architecture.
In October 2021, I am so thrilled to read that the Harvard University-Graduate School of Design has been offering a course on “practice of architectural archiving” (by bringing architects and archivists) in this this Fall academic term: “Interpreting an Archive”, Instructors: Jorge Silvetti, Mark Lee, Ines Zalduendo; the Harvard-GSD, Fall 2021: https://www.gsd.harvard.edu/course/interpreting-an-archive-fall-2021, last accessed on 11.10.2021.
We hope this action by the Harvard-GSD (“Interpreting an Archive”, a course in the Fall 2021 academic term) would open up new horizons for (more) diverse, inclusive and equal historical documentation “practices” and “methods” in architecture! Looking forward to final projects by students & instructors of “Interpreting an Archive” by the Harvard-GSD!
