It has been so motivating to start my day with an inspiring news by the Society of Architectural Historians (SAH) on its SAH Fellows 2023 in this challenging time:

Congrats! Annmarie Adams, Maristella Casciato, Meredith L. Clausen, Thomas S. Hines, and Anoma D. Pieris for their SAH Fellowship; role models in their expertise fields! https://www.sah.org/about-sah/news/news-detail/2023/02/08/society-of-architectural-historians-names-the-2023-class-of-fellows

In May 2021, Maristella was one of our panelists to discuss inclusive and diverse historical documentation practice and "methods" (on underrepresented women architects) with Mary Norman Woods, Professor Emerita at Cornell University, Department of Architecture, the first woman tenured in Cornell's architecture department, founded in 1871; Jessica Quagliaroli, Architecture Records Archivist at the Yale University Library, Manuscripts, and Archives; and Heather Isbell Schumacher, Archivist, University of Pennsylvania Weitzman School of Design, Architectural Archives.

It was my first moderatorship in the U.S. and we have been very pleased to witness next and concrete steps by our panelists and some architectural institutions to support our goals on inclusive and diverse architectural archives.

* As the moderator, I had invited Prof. Sarah Whiting, the dean of the Harvard-GSD to our online panel (May 2021), and we had invited all relevant institutions in architecture to take their "concrete actions" for inclusive and diverse architectural archives in our panel announcement.

In Fall 2021, it was great to read that the Harvard-GSD began to offer a seminar, “Interpreting an Archive”: https://www.gsd.harvard.edu/course/interpreting-an-archive-fall-2021, last accessed on 2.8.2023.

** Maristella began to serve as a NEW member of "National Outreach Program" at the SAH-Women in Architecture-Affiliate Group on April 7, 2022 (where I served as a member of the first Register Committee of the same affiliate group and submitted its first, systematic, in-depth research on inclusive and diverse archives on women architects in Jan-Feb. 2022):  https://sahwomeninarchitectureaffiliategroup.sah.hcommons.org/sah-women-in-architecture-ag-council-seventh-meeting-agenda-04-07-2022, last accessed on 2.8.2023.

*** Our panelist, Heather Isbell Schumacher moderated another panel on "Documenting Women in Architecture" (2022): https://www.docomomo-us.org/event/documenting-women-in-architecture, last accessed on 7.17.2022.

The record of our online panel in May 2021.
