On May 6th, 2023, Menekse Tokyay, accomplished author, editor and translator published her article on the appointment of Dr. Sally Kornbluth as the MIT’s new and woman president by emphasizing the recent rising influence of other women presidents’ appointments at pioneering universities in the U.S., such as at Harvard and Columbia universities, etc.
I am thankful to her to write my view on these recent developments, and to mention about my intersectional feminist research studies in multicultural and multiracial American architecture, my panel talk at “Convergence”, a panel series at the Harvard-Graduate School of Design (2018) to call for a systemic change which paved the way for the appointment of Professor Sarah Whiting as the “first” woman dean at the same school in its his/herstory in 2019.
