On January 22, 2026, I attended an online event by “the Healthy Planet Action Coalition (HPAC)”. Founded in 2021, they are an international group including 200 scientists, engineers, and policy and advocacy specialists urging emergency action to restore a safe climate. As they state in their Executive Summary (March 23, 2025), “the Healthy Planet Action Coalition (HPAC) was formed in 2021, to advocate for implementing worst-case, end of century cooling strategies immediately, with emergency urgency because, projections of activation of tipping collapses of our current climate culture of the later part or end of this century have now been significantly overwhelmed.” (1). On January 22, 2026, their speaker was Glenn Weinreb and he talked about his suggestions for “Climate Moonshot”. As an engineer and an MIT graduate, Glenn Weinreb has been working on climate emergency with his articles and projects.
